Suffer Together
It’s not been an easy year.
But it’s been the best year for us.
The last time we did premarital counseling together I found myself repeating to the couple, “You are going to be one flesh, that’s a big deal.” And I remember the Spirit inside me emphasizing that reality, “Yes, it is a big deal.” I thought that emphasis was for them. As it turns out, it was for us.
Being one flesh means a lot of things…
but this year we found out that means we suffer together.
Jackie’s suffering is my suffering.
My suffering is Jackie’s suffering.
This may not be your typical Mother’s Day article, but on this Mother’s Day I want to celebrate the Mother that I am grateful to suffer with for the rest of my life.
Jackie, I’ve seen you draw near to God this year. You’ve been a great wife and mom and you’ve worked hard to learn what it means to love well in the midst of hardship and trial. There is a great reward coming your way at the dawn of the New Kingdom.
You have been the model for godliness and faith for our daughters. They can trust what we tell them about God because they see you and your dependence upon Him.
I wouldn’t want anything else for my life.
Thank you for being a wonderful wife and I’m proud of the mom you are to our children.
I love you.
Brandon
