Don't Choose The Easy Route
Short and simple.

If we want an easy life, we need to do hard things now. If we want a hard life, we need to avoid every hard thing and choose the easy route every time.
It’s easy to binge on Netflix; it’s harder to study for a final.
It’s easy to scroll on social media; it’s harder to meditate on God’s Word.
It’s easy to linger at the office to avoid going home; it’s harder to love your spouse well by being present.
We want following Jesus to be easy but we know it’s not, which means not following Jesus is easier. If we always default to doing the easier thing, we’ll never follow Jesus.
Read that again. We will never follow Jesus if we always choose the easier route. If we choose the easier route today, we’ll more than likely do the same tomorrow.
The moment before you is going to require courage. You need the courage to do the harder thing—to follow Jesus and be obedient to Him, no matter what.
The Holy Spirit is the great supplier of courage. Ask Him for it.
