This week was a strange week. I’ve been in Northwest Arkansas every day and Jackie and the girls have been in Central Arkansas. It’s been different and I’m ready to be with them all the time again (we move into our new home on June 17!)
An Old Post
This is a post when reflecting on the differences in repentance from the Sailors & the Ninevites in the book of Jonah. Again, one of my favorites I’ve written!
A Song
Jude/Doxology by Ghost Ship
I often play this song in the morning when helping our daughters get ready for the day. Lately they’ve been dancing to it!
A Book
On Being a Servant of God by Warren W. Wiersbe
This book has been helpful for me as I think about what it means to lead and serve the people around me through God’s work in me.
Here’s a link to purchase the book. As an Amazon Affiliate, if you purchase using that link, a portion of the proceeds will go to funding Exploring Life With God.
An Article
Last week I shared an article about X (Twitter) and the recent update they made allowing adult content. This week I’m sharing a similar article that has some practical steps you can take if you’d like to keep X but use caution on the app.
is consistently giving a fresh look at technology from a Christian perspective so I would encourage you to check out this post, and others, written by him.My Favorite Moments
Most of my interactions with my family have been over FaceTime this week, but that doesn’t stop me from having special moments with them.
Hattie & Priscilla
One call I had with them started with Hattie and Priscilla both “showing off” their new toys they got. We subscribe to Lovevery and their latest box of toys came in this week. Even though our daughters aren’t able to fully communicate with their words the things they are excited about, they are with their body language. I was grateful for the opportunity to join them in what they were excited about.
*Update - I wrote the above paragraph prior to coming home on Thursday afternoon. I was greeted with the sweetest hugs. It’s amazing how many new words they were saying after not seeing them for 3 days.
Jackie
This week my wife exemplified what it meant to live by faith in a few different ways. I’m not going to share all the details because I’ll let her do that if she wants, but it most certainly involves moving forward despite being uncertain on the outcome. I’ve been so proud of her for doing that lately.
She is a gift to me and everyone around her.
Also — we had a blast in Branson, MO. last week. If you’re able to be in that area prior to October, I highly recommend Sight & Sound’s Esther performance. It’s incredible!
In case you missed it, this week I sent out two posts:
This one is for paid subscribers. You can become a paid subscriber at any of the following levels and get access:
The second one was a free post for everyone.
Thanks for reading along.
